The French Dispatch brings to life a collection of stories from the final issue of an American magazine published in a fictional 20th-century French city.

The film is inspired, in part, by the histories and personalities – the editors and writers – of publications such as the Paris Review, the New York Review of Books and, especially, the New Yorker.
